Objectives

  • To use the garden as an outdoor classroom that aligns with common core curriculum, particularly in the science area.

  • To foster insightful and critical thinking about our ecosystem and help students foster closer ties to nature.

  • To teach important life skills: including self-awareness, motor skills, and to deepen interpersonal skills during group activities.

  • To provide students a hands-on experience to grow and harvest their own food, to learn more about nutrition, and to learn where food comes from.
