Objectives
- To use the garden as an outdoor classroom that aligns with common core curriculum, particularly in the science area.
- To foster insightful and critical thinking about our ecosystem and help students foster closer ties to nature.
- To teach important life skills: including self-awareness, motor skills, and to deepen interpersonal skills during group activities.
- To provide students a hands-on experience to grow and harvest their own food, to learn more about nutrition, and to learn where food comes from.
- To teach environmental awareness, an understanding for nature, and sustainable living practices.
- To bring together students, teachers, families, and build a strong sense of well-being within our school community and within the greater community.
